Arriving to a new country can be a difficult and confusing process. One of the challenges is finding a good job.
In 3F, we want to make sure that you are decently treated – e.g., getting paid the wages you are entitled to. In Denmark, rights of employment such as good wages and working conditions are secured in collective agreements between employers and trade unions negotiating on your behalf.
Unfortunately, not every employer will provide you with good conditions. This is one of the reasons why you should join our trade union: We will help you through the whole process from finding a job with good working conditions to checking your hiring contract – just like we help many other workers in Denmark.
Please feel free to use 3F’s job database, 3F Jobformidling. You can find a link to the job database and a description of how to use it below here. Our database is the largest and best job database in Denmark. One of the most important tasks of 3F’s unemployment insurance fund (3FA – Faglig Fælles A-kasse) is to help unemployed find their next job. This is why we offer the job database, 3F Jobformidling.
3F job database consists of both a database of jobs and a database of CV's where you can be matched with a job if you have the right qualifications. The latter is for members of 3F and 3FA only.
Many of the jobs listed in the database are described in Danish – but there are also jobs in the database with English titles and text.
3F job database consists of both a database of jobs and a database of CV's where you can be matched with a job if you have the right qualifications.
If you are a member of 3F, you also have the option of setting up a job agent and submitting your CV. With a "job agent" you can search for specific jobs. For example "carpenter - Ringsted". Then you will be notified when there is a vacancy.
If you wish to create a job agent and submit your CV, just log into Mit3F on the link below and go to the database, 3F Jobformidling.

In 3F, have great experience in helping foreigners get a job with good working conditions. You should not tolerate exploitation, but it can be difficult to discern a good working place to a bad one when newly arrived in a new country.
3F can help you with that. Due to our great organizing range of both skilled and unskilled workers in various industries and sectors as well as locally bound offices, we have a wide knowledge of open positions at workplaces with good conditions all around the country. We will help you through all the steps from application to checking your hiring contract.
In Denmark, we have no legal minimum wage requirement. Good wage and working conditions are secured through collective agreements which the trade unions negotiate on your behalf with the employers. This has ensured the highest minimum wages in the EU.
This means that in Denmark, the majority of workers are members of a trade union - in fact, the union density in Denmark is one of the highest in the world.
Your Danish colleagues will expect you to join a trade union when you enter employment.
